Linking Around!

It's another one of those posts where I point you to various places on the Internet!

  • Archie Comics and DC Comics have announced a crossover of Tiny Titans and Little Archie! Should be good for the kiddies, though I'd prefer some Punisher/Archie love myself.

  • Bully Says: Comics Oughta Be Fun pokes fun at the (quite frankly insipid and trite) JMS Superman: Grounded story in which Superman decides he's going to walk across America, with Thor Walks Across America.

  •  The Comics Detective has completed presenting the testimonies of the DC Comics vs. Victor Fox case, which the Cube! covered here some time ago. I still want to know why Eisner-Iger was shafted the $3000 they were owed, and unfortunately, we'll most likely never know. As one commenter points out, Eisner did work for Fox after the lawsuit, so what was up?

  • Four-Color Shadows has a complete scan of a Funnyman story. For those not in the know, Funnyman was Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's follow-up to Superman. That's right; they decided that their best way to follow up the Man of Tomorrow was with a clown, who's not actually funny. That having been said, I think the strip is funny. The main antagonist is a Frenchman who has henchmen named LeVacuum and LeCleaner. It's gold!

  • Four-Color Shadows also has a scan of two stories of The Secret Files of Dr. Drew, by Eisner assistants Marilyn Mercer and Jerry Grandenetti, published in Ghost Comics. I had never heard of Drew, Ghost Comics, Marilyn Mercer, or Jerry Grandenetti before this, but even just looking at the thumbnails, I had to look twice to see that it wasn't done by Will Eisner or at least Jack Cole. Everything from the faces to the lettering to the way the window is framed as a panel is virtually indistinguishable. Incredible. I want this reprinted, like now.

  • In case you're a new reader visiting the Comics Cube!, let me take the time to point you to stuff you may have missed. Here's our list of the Top 10 Most Influential Comics Artists of All Time, and here's Spider-Man Week! Feel free to browse around, and remember that comments are always appreciated!
