Things to Do in 2018

It’s the start of a new year once again. While everybody is setting their New Year new life goals, I’ll share my 2018 comics or comic related goals to you as well. Here are:

The Things I Want to Do This 2018
by Migs Acabado

1. Read more comics to lessen my unread pile. Back in 2016, there was a period when I grew tired of reading comics. During that time, I kept on buying comic books but I never actually read them. Even though my enthusiasm came back later that year, I had a lot of backlog and I still have a lot of comics pending to be read.

2. Complete my Mike Carey Lucifer volumes. I started reading Lucifer way back in 2012. I recently got the other volumes for the old trade paperback collection. It’s almost complete but the problem is I cannot find Book 5 (Inferno)! Hopefully, I can track it down this year so I can read the whole series.

3. Read Daredevil: Guardian Devil once again and write about it. Guardian Devil is one of my favorite Daredevil stories ever. I wanted to write about it last year but it had already six years ago since the last time I read it. I need to refresh my memory. Then I'll write about it.

4. Produce an article on a monthly basis. I thought about this during the last months of 2017. I want to write at least one article per month, hoping my day job will allow me to.

5. Finish Elektra: AssassinI’ve been reading this since 2016 but I am having trouble finishing the story. It’s not that I don’t like it. I love the art and the story, but for some reason I have difficulty in reading it.

6. Finish Gundam Unicorn. Started watching this anime last year but when I became busy I wasn’t able to watch it anymore. The story and animation is superb, but I forgot where I stopped. I think I need to start watching this again from the beginning

7. Avoid being grumpy to casual fans. I admit it. I get annoyed with casual fans who are boasting that they are big comic book fans, but whenever they talk about comics and the things that they are talking about are wrong. This year I’ll try my very best not to get annoyed and tolerate them as humanly possible.

This New Year gives us the perfect chance to explore a lot of things in this hobby. Let’s hope that we make the most out of it. If you have the time, go grab the comics that you want to read, watch the series/anime that interests you or write the story that you have in mind.

Happy New Year from Out of Nowhere!

And Happy New Year from The Comics Cube!
