Welcome to another installment of Easter Eggs in Comics! Click here for the archive!
Today's Easter Egg comes from Brian Cronin's Comic Book Legends Revealed over at Comics Should Be Good. It's too cool not to share with you right away!
"It was a dark and stormy night," was the opening line for Snoopy's Great American Novel in Charles Schulz's Peanuts. It's been repeated often, and is now a classic line. However, some readers may not know that Snoopy actually finished his novel. Here it is, in entirety:
Well, in 1981's Detective Comics #500, Len Wein and Walt Simonson produced a 2-page Batman story called "Once upon a time..." in which all the words were in captions, with not a word of dialogue. The captions all came from Snoopy's novel!
How cool is that? Thanks to Brian Cronin for the information and images!
