Easter Eggs in Comics: Smallville in Teen Titans

Welcome to another installment of Easter Eggs in Comics! Click here for the archive!

In the first issue of Teen Titans volume 3, by Geoff Johns and Mike McKone, dated September 2003, the current batch of teenage superheroes try to live their normal lives. Foremost among these is Superboy, Superman's clone, who has been taken in by the Kents and has taken the name of Conner Kent, Clark Kent's cousin.

So, like any normal teenager, Conner has to attend high school - in this case, Smallville High, where there are some particularly familiar faces in the background:

Yep, those kids are obvious homages to the cast of Smallville, which at that point had just concluded its second season. Sure, Chloe's hair is short, and the blond girl's is long, but the intent is there!

Sadly, any attempt to actually introduce Chloe Sullivan to the main Superman universe has been nixed one way or another.

Pretty funny, huh?
